Cross Breeding

Many Species are able to reproduce with many other Species.

Inheritance

In most cases the child Species depends on the fathers Species. This rule is inverse for egg laying Species. Egg laying and none egg laying species can rarely interbreed.

In some cases the offspring are Hybrids. Most Species came into existence in this way. Only Ancient Species are not hybrids in any way.

There are some noticeable exceptions from this rule, for example

Cross Breading with Animals

Female Elves can cross breed with some animals which produces Animal Hybrid offspring. This is where a lot of Species directly or indirectly originate.

Physical Compatibility

The ability to cross breed is independent of the physical compatibility of potential mates. This means not being able to cross breed doesn’t mean not being able to have sex. But also in reverse there are pairings that are physically not able to have sex but still able to cross breed.
